At the Tomb

Sunday, March 22, 2026  Fifth Sunday in Lent

Scripture: John 11:1–45

Scripture Summary:
Jesus arrives after Lazarus has died, and in the midst of grief and doubt, declares, “I am the resurrection and the life.” At the tomb, Jesus weeps, then calls Lazarus out, bringing life where there was death.

Devotional:
There are moments in life that feel too far gone, too broken, too buried to be restored. We’ve all stood at some kind of tomb, grief, loss, disappointment, unanswered prayers. And yet, Jesus doesn’t stay away from those places. Jesus steps right into them. Even weeps with us. And then, with a voice that carries power and compassion, he calls life out of what we thought was over.
Maybe today, God is still calling something in you to come out. Not just later. Not someday. But now.

Prayer:
God of life, meet me in the places that feel lost and speak new life into my soul. Amen.
