Scripture: John 4:5–15
Scripture Summary
Jesus meets a Samaritan woman at the well and asks her for a drink. Then Jesus speaks of “living water,” the kind of gift only God can give, water that truly satisfies the deepest thirst of the soul.
Devotion
We know what it is to be thirsty. Sometimes it is not physical thirst, but spiritual thirst, worn-out hearts, tired spirits, and the ache that comes from carrying too much for too long.
The world feels thirsty, too. There is so much noise, division, and weariness around us. And yet here is Jesus, sitting at a well, meeting someone in the middle of an ordinary day and offering life.
That is how grace often comes, not in grand displays, but in quiet encounters. Lent invites us to be honest about what is dry within us and to let Christ meet us there.
Prayer
Jesus, living water, meet me in the dry places of my life and fill me again with your grace. Amen.
